Community Interest Company

Brighter Futures has established a Community Interest Company which is a ‘Not for private profit’ company.

The Community Interest Company will be run by a voluntary board of Trustees (Directors) who run the company and adhere to the guidelines of the CIC Regulator.


By establishing a Community Interest Company, we hope to:

• Plough profit generated, back into the organisation
• Sustain the Community Intervention Program for young people past March 2008.
• Make our services available to the wider community of Plymouth.
• Sell our services and invest the profits into our Community Interest Company.
• Provide other services needed at local neighbourhood and city wide levels.
• Provide placements, support and training for volunteers.
• Create employment through social enterprise initiatives and opportunities.
• Build a membership of the CIC.

Wanted! CIC Members

In order to establish our CIC, we need to establish a membership. A member would complete a membership form and would become involved with our organisation at whatever level the member chooses. For example, a member may only wish to receive a quarterly newsletter, updating them regarding the interests and activities of the organisation and there is no time commitment requirement on their part. Other members may wish to become more involved with the CIC and help influence the way that the CIC operates or have some form of responsibility, say coordinating volunteers, helping with workshops or fundraising for example. Your level of commitment is up to you. 

Members can be any age so you're not too young and not too old!

Membership does not cost anything!
